The first President’s Advisory Council meeting is tomorrow!

I was recently appointed to the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability, and tomorrow the council will meet for the first time in Washington, DC.

One of our goals is to tackle the problem of financial illiteracy in our country and report back to President Obama on concrete ways to help people like you make sensible economic decisions in your everyday lives.

And, like any project, it starts with a meeting. Tomorrow we’ll begin to develop a strategy that we believe can truly help Americans. It will be a joy to meet the other council members—all like-minded people who are eager to educate folks about their finances. Mostly, I’m excited to finally roll up my sleeves and get to work.

What issues would you like to see the council address? Please leave a comment below or drop me a line at, and I’ll bring your suggestions to the meeting.
