In May 2012, the White House launched Money as You Grow—a new national initiative to teach parents the 20 things their kids need to know about money—at the White House Summit on Financial Capability and Empowerment.
As a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability, Beth Kobliner worked with her colleagues on this effort for 16 months, synthesizing the best available research, standards, and guidelines. The result is Money as You Grow, an online, interactive tool that features the 20 essential money milestones that kids need to know as they grow—along with behavior-changing, age-appropriate activities.
